Attempted meat thief sought in Carleton Place Man tried to take around $600 worth of meat on Saturday CBC News Posted: Apr 16, 2014 12:15 PM ET ![]() Lanark County OPP are looking for a suspect after a man tried to steal a "large amount" of meat over the weekend. They said officers were called to the Independent in Carleton Place around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Sgt. Kristine Rae said store staff observed the man trying to take about $600 worth of meat.
