Today bought internet deer licence and was rooting thru mnr site. Turns out been doing something illegal. Been cat fishing and as per new fishing regs as a senior am supposed to buy a new licence. Wish my pension would go up like those liberal government thinkers make their salaries. Cant afford hunting trips and soon fishing too. Mad Mad Mad. Never will vote liberal again in my life! All the money they wasted and to take it out of the pockets of seniors and the poor.
Will be contacting government, opposition and local mpp.

It is ridiculous the way money has been wasted and then how the people who have been paying into the system their whole lives are told they have to pay again.

Where did you see this? Never heard anuything about it. So under the age of 18 and over 65 no longer are exempt, if so you are not the only one breaking the law I'm sure of that.

I just looked at the new regulations and they still have the under 18 and 65 and over no fishing licence required in it? I couldn’t find anything different on the website, where did you find out that information?

Been doing a lot of calling to find out about this and getting conflicting answers since my application for deer licence. One person says that they are pushing voluntary donations to fishing licence ie. the same as buying regular licence and it will start coming up on internet for any licence application by a senior citizen. Another person said it was a [order in house?] starting may 1 coming from new revenue proposals 30 dollars for 3 years seniors. Another one said it was a mistake should not have been there.. Still don,t know were I stand. Still looking for clarity.
It was a add on about buying seniors fishing licence when I bought my deer licence online.

I believe it is a proposal to start charging seniors , but it has not been past yet.
But since I turned 65 last November , I'm sure it will pass and we will have to pay again,

Yes I think that you are right. The MNR recently outlined several proposed licence changes in order to maintain a stream of revenue into the special purpose account. Making seniors pay for fishing licences and requesting donations were included in the proposals.

The information was presented on the Governments Environmental Registry. I did a quick check and couldn't find it, so i suspect that the public review period has ended.
