Our area had a few high wind storms during winter and spring. The last two photos show a mini burst that caught the edge of the farm and hit a 100 feet in on the next farm. I toppled a strip about a quarter to one half of a mile long and from 50 to 150 feet wide. The trees at the start were uprooted and flattened the rest til at the end it must have lifted. One of the stands was demolished between the burst and the ones on this side. The red tie down and part of the ladder is all that is left of it. The fourth picture from the top shows the hole the burst made looking at the sky line.

Another bad windstorm a couple of weeks ago. This time the damage was close to my house and neighbors property and the damage was reported in a strip three or four miles long.

This has been the worst year for me for downed trees on trails and in the farm yard. It took a lot of Rene and Deb hours to clear things this year.

Did you find that the hi winds are clipping the tops off healthy trees? Mostly all the trees damaged are healthy ash, maples and oak of 2 to 3 foot diameter with big tops sheared off. Will have enough fire wood for a couple of years not counting the dead and dying ones.
