In kijiji north bay under hunting was an add by a person [self entitled native] who was advertising guiding for 80 pp pd and said he had all equipment needed and supplied. This person said no licenses were needed with with him guiding customers. I don,t believe this is true and think that this is a ply to change rules for natives. Understand only on reserve are licenses different. What do you think?

I think nobody really knows the rules, I think they make em up as they go, I think different areas/tribes have varying rules, I think they (not all) are rapping our land, the same land they claim to be so protective, the might mother earth and I think things really need to change.

Two falls ago when driving home I stoped in mattawa for gas, had a good talk with a native lady who was expressing her frustration of not getting a tag for there family two years in a row. She went on to tell me about her son having multiple bulls under 100 yds and not being able to harvest one. Another fella a spoke to just last weekend about moose hunting was telling me he hunts algonquin park. He says ya we need 6 people in a group to get a bull tag this year and we only had 5 so probably wont be going this year. I found those two stories interesting and more understandable then some of the other stories you hear of needing no tag, shooting when and where they want, hunting at night ect.

My brother in law has a farm in Hagersville ont and last fall when he was doing
his night time chores he heard rifle shots back in his bush so he wen't back to see who was back there
thinking it was a buddy and it was 2 natives with a deer he told them to get out he was going to call the cops
they just laughed at him said go ahead they won't do any thing they took the deer and left he called the police
they said they would look into it he gave them licence plate number and never herd about it again so i take it they got away with it.
they shot the deer with a 270 he told them you can't shoot deer with a rifle here and laughed again and said we can some native people
are good people and the rest well you know what i'm thinking :haha:

Hey Cormen, the area around Mattawa is related to the Algonquins the only band in Ontario that has this type of moose management. That being said, there tags are just as faulted as our system with sleepers applying six names on application for two people hunting.
