In the states there seems to be a lot of people claiming and actually doing the work of property consultants. They come assess your property and make recommendations. Just wondering if there is anyone in Ontario that is doing a similar service?

I don't know anyone but I am sure there are some members here who would be interest in this type of service. Are you thinking about starting a business?

Donnie,

Contact www.qdma.ca and they might be able to help you out.
Some of the members have taken courses in QDMA deer habitat management and might offer that service.

There are a lot of members here who have not taken any courses and have made great improvements on their properties. There is a lot of good information out there, a lot of it right here on this forum. Good topic to start.

I agree Rene, and no I am not trying to start a business just learn some more. I guess the biggest issue is just knowing where to begin.

Hey Friggs, good idea on the QDMA Canada.

Donnie, I have tried to do a lot for my property over the 5 years I have had it. As stated above QDMA is a great resource . The Managed Forest site https://www.ontario.ca/environment-and-energy/managed-forest-tax-incentive-program
has some great info and contacts for people who do provide the type of service you are looking for. I would also be remiss if I did not mention some of the great ideas I have gotten from this site already!

You are correct on the QDMA, I think the biggest issue I am having right now is where to start, We have 400 acres and I think I need to break it down more and that might make it easier. We do belong to the Managed Forest Tax program, never thought of looking there for information.
