I seen it and it is a good bull but I was a little skeptical about the shot that the bull presented to him.... which he took. |

Just watched the show and that was a nice bull. At 60 yards that was a good shot. Face on the V at the top of a bull's brisket is quite a big target. I was a little surprised the bull went any distance and didn't drop on the spot. |

I gotta say, I was disapointed in the show, yup, sure was. DISAPOINTED THAT IT WASN"T 2 hrs LONG Seriously, wow. what scenory, what footage. Its too bad it all had to be cramed in a half hr. I bet they had enough footage to do an hour long video with no comercials. That was fantastic.

Hey guys, that hunt was truly the hunt of a lifetime. It was way up in the Cassiar Mountains of northern BC, about 100 km South of the Yukon and a few hours from Alaska. BC Safaris, were my outfitter. Fly in and then horseback to your outpost camp. I was there in mid October so the nights were pretty chilly, -5-10 degrees. My first days hunt I seen over 30 moose, many were too far for the camera to pick up as you can see for miles up on those mountains. The second morning I shot the big bull by 10 am. We seen him in the buck brush from 300 yards away while on the horse. I knew as soon as I seen the rack he was a giant. We stalked another 100 yards towards him and then began to call. He grunted and worked towards us thrashing the odd tree. The only down side was the small bluff of trees infront of me. He came from behind it and was out of sight for 2 minutes. Not knowing what side he was going to come out on lgave me a few anxious moments. He then emerged from the right side and gave me the shot. He piled up 12 yards later. What a rush. I could not believe my eyes when I walked up to him. He green scored 219 gross and after the drying period grossed 215 and netted 211 B&C. He was a 12x15 with over 40 " palms, 17" widths and over 60" spread. It was an excellent hunting experience without harvesting such an incredible animal. I was dreaming of a 170 -180" bull but in reality would have been thrilled with a nice mature animal no matter what it scored. The entire experience was incredible, those mountains are truly majestic and some of the finest scenery I have ever seen. The whole hunt was a dream hunt for me nd the moose was agreat bonus. I am glad some of you were able to see the episode, thanks for the support, we appreciate it. |

That is sweet! I am glad you got to see some new country up there in Northern B.C. Congratulations on a fanatastic Bull moose Keith! Will hopefully catch the show next time around. I wonder how the three of you come up with what hunts you will be on. Draw straws? lol. A moose hunt in Northern B.C. would definately be on the top of most of our lists I assume. |

I am glad you posted the picture Mike, I appreciate it. It was a first class hunt all the way around, even in the middle of the wilderness we ate like kings. The show will re-run this Saturday at 6:30 am on Global National, so if you have satelite that means us Ontario folks can get it all morning as it airs across the west. It will also make its first appearence on Wild TV on our weekly prime time slot of Friday at 7pm. As for who goes on the hunts, well that is always interesting but I assure you if that hunt comes available again, Paul and Kevin will not be letting me go The nice part of hunting with your brothers is that we actually enjoy seeing each other be successful, so we have always rotated on who was the last to harvest a mature animal. Then the other two do all they can to help him. Obviously that does not always mean the first guy up gets the opportunity but it has been a great system for us. This hunt actually was funny, my wife and I had a baby on September 18, so I was unable to go on a few hunts and this was the first one I could be scheduled into. What a great one to get Advanced Taxidermy will be doing a pedastal mount of the bull. I am enjoying the process as James and Shawn are very creative in their plans. Should be a trophy that will bring me many memories for a long time. After seeing Shane and Rene's walls I know they enjoy a great memories each time they step into their houses. Those guys have some great trophies. |
