The only answer you need to know is ........NATIVE TERRITORY...!!! night hunting and rifle shooting during the bow season. You're best bet is to concentrate further south.

Archer Ontario, Kingston Ont

i hunted Jellico for 6 years Archery hunting
with great sucess
why i dont hunt there anymore
on my 5th year i had called out a 35 inch bull and he was coming across the cut to us when all of a sudden WHAM WHAM WHAM gun shots flying all around .
a group of native hunters heard us calling and set up from the ridge on the cut and when the moose was 100 yards from us they open fired i was never so scared there i was in full camo and they didnt know where we were.
that ruined the whole trip. if i ever go back i am going FAR OFF THE BEATIN TRAIL.

I did forestry work up here for many years. I can set you up in areas where you will have no issues. Shoot me a PM. I can get you maps of all the road networks. It is a fantastic area. I do not share any of the same stories as the other members. That being said I was in some pretty remote areas because of the nature of the work I did their. Lots of moose, lots of forest to get away from other hunters, you will be fine as long as you know where NOT to go.

Last year was my first time moose hunting. Our group hunted the Archery hunt in that area. For me it was a great experience. We were off the main road and never ran into any problems. The moose population seemed good where we were hunting. Alot of bear sign too!

I have a cottage close to Jellicoe and if you do some homework and get off the beaten path you should have no problems. There are some real good places for moose hunting around this area. Good Luck. Northshore.
