My partner and I were in the same boat, said we were not entered into the draw (even though we bought and entered the draw six weeks before the last day to enter) and no tag for us. Good News...just got a phone call from my partner and we will be receiveing a bull tag for WMU 13 in my partners name and I will be able to claim pool 1 status next season. Made my day. Northshore.

Hey, Kit. Phoned the MNR and get it sorted out. You know i mentioned this on another site, Ont. out of doors, about the situation, and man did i get ridiculed. It is nice that on this site you can talk about it, without being slammed to bad.Any way , just give them a call , and i'm sure thing's will get straightened out, let us know. :fudd:

i had not heard about this but my brother and i put are aps. in the same envelope and mailed them in.when he called they said he was not entered in the draw.we thought maybe he made a mistake bt we both did our paper work the same. maybe we should have called in and asked why.

That's what I would do. I certainly wouldn't let it go without saying anything. I would stay on it until it was straightened out. This has been happening way too often lately.

There's still time to get that done. Don't let it go, munch.

I'm glad it seems to have worked out for most of you. Sadly, our group wasn't as lucky. We mailed two applications, one for a bull, one for a cow, using the MNR envolopes. We never received our tags, despite having the necessary numbers, so we followed up with phone calls. We were advised they never received our applications and we were out of luck. We spoke with the lady running the moose program and she's not budging. Not only are we out the cost of our tags and the deposit we made with the outfitter, we don't go in pool A next year.

I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same situation.

That's a big load of crap, if you ask me. Totally unacceptable!

Don't you guys take that one laying down, Garry. I'd be going at them like a mad pitbull on a raw t-bone and wouldn't let go until they fixed their mistake. They make the mistakes and the hunters have to suffer the consequences??? That's not right of them, not at all.

Mike, there's no chance I'm letting this go without a fight. We asked the Ombudsman to intervene, and because they're blaming the problem on Canada Post, I co-addressed a letter to the Minister of Natural Resources and the President of Canada Post, asking both to investigate. Our next step is an Access to Information request to get an idea of how widespread the issue is, in hopes we can gather enough evidence to warrant legal action.

And that my friends is why I refuse to use the mail in system. Heard of this happening too many times. Don't trust Canada Post one bit. I feal for ya man. On a side note, my bro in law still hasn't recieved his moose tag in the mail yet. Funny eh! We were told we couldn't get a re-isue till 2 weeks prior to the season.
