Hey I was wondering if anyone here hunts in 21A. I think i might take a run up into that country if i can pick up a spare tag. All information would be welcome.

21A can be good but you really must know some of the lesser known areas and access routes. I am very familiar with the southern portion of this unit. The area is very rugged and there are remote pockets of wilderness where moose density is very high.

Stay away from Beardmore? Why is that? We are leaving for near there soon. Hunting up there was decent last year.

Frost this morning Carl !! :cold:

Was doing some pre-hunt scouting of a new spot and watched a cow and calf walk out, when I ducked out of the bay I ran right into a very fresh rut pit and some totally trashed trees - can't wait :archer:

Hey Rene and Joe, any other tips for 21A. We are heading there in about two weeks and can hardly wait. When you say you can find little hidden pockets that usually have a high density of moose, I am guessing this is no where near the maind roads (Goldfeild or Steel) and definatley no where near a clear cut? Any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

Donnie

There are other shorter roads, winter cuts etc. Look at google maps. The main roads will have a lot of pressure to be sure. As I previously mentioned, my experience is with the southern portions of this unit. If you go just a little bit further than any quad trail and hunt areas just a little off the main routes your success probably will increase. Of course the drawback is the work in getting bullwinkle out.
