Well the trip has come and gone and I'm finally caught up on all the work at home I missed from skipping out of town for 3 weeks.

So here is a quick report and some pics.

The moose rut was a little early this year with them turning on about the 19th of September. We had constant action with our kill coming down on Tuesday of opening week. We had another tag and lots more action but never the perfect shot as presented to make a another bow kill. I'm going to let the pictures tell the story as I go.

On the drive up a view travelling along Nipegon Lake.

I went up a week early to get some fishing in this year and start setting up camp. Trout were hard to come by as the surface temps were all ready 59 degs on the surface on the 13th of September. I did manage to find one but release him and kept some pike for the fish frys instead. Once the hunt started with all the action we had I stuck with the moose hunt and didn't hit the water after opener.

A picture of a bear I watched feeding thru a cut while doing some preseason scouting for moose. He was about 200 yds away and a really nice bear.

We had some of the most amazing sunsets this year with the sky seeming to be on fire. Makes for some awesome photos but distracting from the hunt.

Here is a picture of the moose as it was coming around the side of the pond to the shooter. Sorry for being a bit blurry as it was about 400 yds away from me. I made a mistake formating my video card or I would of had it all on video, a live and learn moment.

He was shot at about 32 yds with compound bow.

Finally the shooter with his bull i'm guessing close to a 47 inch animal but didn't measure before heading home so will have to check on that to make sure.

Hope you enjoy the report and pics and now on to the deer hunt.
