The essence of the suit is that the government has failed to adequately control the moose population and that the failure has caused people to be killed by collisions due to Moose overpopulation. If they are successful what do you think the implications are for Ontario municipalities that don't manage their deer herds more aggressively?

First off they should adopt Ontario's MNR approach to moose population control.

- cancel the spring bear hunt
- limit the number of wolves that can be taken each year
- and make adult moose tags a 649 event and turn the moose hunt into a calf hunt.
- 10 years down the road the moose population will have dwindled down enough

Yes that will dwindle down the population quickly. lol As you guys have found out.As to Renes question.
I think if they win this law suit it would open up a can of worms and every province and state would be sued every time someone hit an animal or the animal caused damage to a human being. Having said that, I am guessing that they would never rule against the federal government. I think it would be good for the sportsmen in the long run as I think you would see your spring black bear season come back real quick once the bear started doing damage or killed someone. Same with the wolves. Does it really take livestock, pets, or someone getting hurt or killed before they start controlling these things. Should be an interesting case.

They should relocate about 40000 to Ontario.
