Just caught an episode of Canada in the Rough, archery moose hunting in the Thunder Bay area. Great show with BigBull Joe (Joe Dampier) guiding and calling for the Beasley brothers, excellent footage of a nice bull being worked in and a great shot to harvest a beauty moose. They also got a nice black bear, loved the show good work. https://sites.google.com/view/north-river-outfitters/home You're not paying for a stay at the Hilton, you're paying to participate in nature. Anything can happen. I work part time so I can hunt full time YOU'LL NEVER SHOOT THE BIG ONE IF YOU SHOOT THE SMALL ONE FIRST | |

Yup, seen it as well. Actually caught it on TV this AM. The bear was a suprise, the footage on the moose was superb. Great shot in the heat of the moment. Good job Joe on the calling and scouting, great job Keith on the camera work. Great job Kevin on passing and of course Paul. NW Ontario moose hunt.

Prior to the Beasleys involvement the show Was mediocre at best...maybe 15% of the time The show was digestible Once they brought in some fresh ideas and a much more relaxed feel to the show it Became more palatable and easy on the eyes This is no way a knock on Thomas P It was a show that needed some spice to really crank the flavor up a notch Keep up the good work boys |

Those are very kind words everyone! We really love what we are doing and often have to pinch ourselves in the process. To hear that bull grunting from close to a mile away on that crisp cool morning and then to have Paul anchor him with the bow at 8 yards was truly a magical moment in the woods. The real neat part was 2 cameras catching footage of that bull for close to 500 yards. We are small town boys who love to hunt and have not forgotten about all the people here and on other boards and across Ontario who have helped us along the way. Hunting or scoring racks with guys like Shane, Renegade (Rene & Deb), Dobber (Ian), Big Bull Joe and others over the years have all been experience we are grateful for and appreciate. Hunting is a wonderful passion that binds so many of us together and allows us to meet such great people. OTB members have a great group and its nice to read about everyone else's stories as well. Thanks for everything! |

I agree that was the BEST moose vid. I have seen on TV,the footage and vocalization of the bull was great, but I think Joe's calling was awsome,it's the first time the caller really sounded like a cow moose. WTG boys, great calling Joe. |

whitetailweasel - thanks, I cant keep up with who is on the boards, we have shared some measuring tables and the woods with you once or twice as well. With your moose experience and hunting resume we certainly appreciate the compliments. Jeff - if you do ever pick the show up in Michigan, I would love to know. |

Finally got around to watching some PVR'd shows last night.... Gotta say myself that was amazing footage. To have both camera's capture so much footage like Kieth said was something else.... Great shot to Paul! |

Keithy: I've had the same problem as Joe on a couple of occasions - bear coming to my moose call. I guess I must sound like a sick calf. Great episode!!!
