ive been hunting moose for a few years now and i have shot one bull moose so far. my buddy and i are just sitting around having a couple brews talking about this years moose hunt and we thought it would be cool to hear some of the other moose hunters opinions on whats the best way to find and hunt a bull moose in moose season as in tatics or whatever you may be willing to share. |

with all the warm weather hunt near water , we do alot of scouting find rut pits tracks droppings where a bull has raked up the trees. find where the cows are hanging out elk turkey and moose hunting are all the same find sign set up call wait for a response we try to find as many locations as possible

First couple days in camp cover as much ground as possible. Then sit down and decide where the best sign is and start with that. Early season when it's hot and not full rut yet they will be in the thick reserve around lakes. If it's cold they will start moving at night so start calling before sunup to catch one on the move. When rut kicks in call and stay mobile. |

AND DONT RUN TO CAMP IN THE RAIN 80% OF THE MOOSE WE HAVE SHOT IS IN THE RAIN .sorry about the cap's lol |

Call in the morning and in the evening near water and spend the afternoons looking for sign. oh ya... did I mention call. |

Find afew promising looking areas with lots of sign and call. Calling is key IMO to an sucessful moose season. Sure there are lots of moose taken without calling but, calling just increases your odds. Matt |
