just wondering what the success rate is on calling moose in the firs week archery...we normally are north of thunderbay in the second week and have good feedback from the moose but is the first week like....is it a tad early?

I called 3 bulls out on the first week last season. The calls start to heat-up really good on the second week.

Whatever you do, never go on the 3rd week, as it will be a big discouragement for you come mid week, with the gun hunters riding their ATVs everywhere and anywhere they can find a trail. Not to mention sighting in their rifles in the cuts. And some of them don't have respect or ethics, nor do they care if there are guys bowhunting in the area.

Good luck with the hunt, skdly.

even going through the forum history over the years you will see that the bulls start off good during the first week, then slows down and builds back up mid week on the second week. Weather plays a bigger part in it though, seems to heat up once we get some good frosts

It never huts to try calling at any time, but you would likely have better luck during the second week.
