I hunted with a guy for over 20 yrs. He lives in southern ontario, I live in north western ontario and we hunted moose and deer in different parts of the province with the same group of guys. For the last five years or so we hunted out of my camp later in the season. The group would get together and come up and we'd head out. He decided he wanted to hunt earlier in the season so went on his own. I assumed he'd go to one of the areas we used to hunt years ago. All the best, but last year my brother and I showed up at our usual spots the opening weekend, and low and behold, here's this guy with a totally different crew hunting the spots I showed him only a kilometre from my camp. Apparently he'll be here next weekend doing the same thing. To me, that's one of the ultimate lows....you don't move in on your buddy's spots. Needless to say, we're not buddies anymore! |

Hey baydog I see your point..The only thing i question is that your buddy wanted to hunt in the early part of the season and you guys used to hunt later on in the season...so if he's hunting now with a different group in the early season..that shouldnt be a big deal. Unless im reading that wrong The fact that he's hunting near your camp i could see that being disrespectful.

No, he didn't let me know. And to clarify, I hunt at all times of the season and went to one of the spots that I'd shown him near my camp on opening morning. Low and behold, there he is 1500km from home sitting in one of my favourite spots. Illegal? No. Classless???......in my opinion yes. I didn't have any idea he was even coming up and I think he figured I'd never find out. To make matters worse, he brought new guys to the area and showed them as well. |
