Well first off I'd like to thank you guys for taking the chance and letting me lead you off in to no mans land. It was an honor and pleasure to hunt with ya'll once again.

It wasn't a slam dunk hunt thats for sure. I have beeb keeping log books for years and keeping an eye on certain areas I'd like to hun for years. Finally this year we put it all together and got the tags to do the hunt.

We found the moose right off the bat they just didn't want to show themselves and it didn't take long before we figured out we were going to have to tighten up our sdet up and hunt real close to cover and water. It was 21-25 degrees by 11 am almost eveyday so hunting all day like I wanted to do was out of the question.

One cow at 40yds give us a show with a few roars but she was timid and wanted nothing to do with the competition out there (our cow decoy) Another encounter saw a very dominant cow stear what I believe was a very large bull away from the call and back to the timber. Really wish Scott had got a better look at him let alone a crack at him. Ahh well, he did the right thing.

Another encounter saw Ray face to face at 30 yds to a 50" bull. He caught him off gaurd and no shot opportunity. Becase he come in silent and took off at the sound of my thrashing I believe there is a much bigger one around.

Had I noe broke my golden rule of NOT MOVING> I probably would have had a shot at a 30 incher  ahhh well, it all worked out in the end, on our last day. Its not the first time I have pulled a rabbit errr I mean moose out of the hat on the last day :D

First set up just wasn't working and I believe we over stayed our welcome there. Even though fester heard the odd bull grunt the decision was made to pull out, and run and gun the the next spot.

A quick set up and a few soft calls and the radio buzzed with scott saying I think we have one in front of us. 2 more soft calls in the direction he heard noise from and not a minute later out he come. What a sight. I was perched hi on a bluff and watched it all go down. Butch turned him broadside with a grunt and at 37 yds off went his arrow. Another shot was made much further that ultimitly grazed his leg.

As he walked by me and in to the cover he sure wasn't moving very fast and I could see him leaking some sort of red fluid out his opposite side :D

Ray and I went back to camp to get suplies and 2 hrs later we were off on the blood trail. It was tough at times but a half hr in I looked up and saw antler 50 yds away wooooooo hooooooooo :yikes: woohoo

The rest is history. What a hunt with a great bunch of guys. Thanks again boyz
