Trying to get everything packed up in the next couple of days to head out next weekend. Took one last run into the camp yesterday to drop off afew can goody and pop for the hunt. Check cameras and swap around afew. Only had 1 pic of a moose and you can't till what it was. Lots of sign along the bogs even seen the startings of a rut pit just alittle ways from my ladder stand. Some nice trails within bow range of the stand also. Can't wait for opening day. The last time I checked the weather for our area it wasn't looking to good so I'll be watching that alittle closer this week.

Good luck to everyone that is still either in the woods or getting ready it hit it in the next week or so.

Finished packing everything I can think of today. Sighted in the Muzzleloader at 100 yards (100grs. of 777 with an 240gr XTP bullet or 200gr TC shockwave) not much difference between the two.

Load the bike on Saturday and head for my parents for the night then leave from there in the morning.

I work with a guy who hunts on the Kawagama Lk Rd. He's up there next week as well. His name is Rick Bechard. Any chance you know him?

Well after an wet week we are once again back at our homes. Buddy got an Calf right off the bat on opening morning. Could have kept shooting as there was another calf and bull with the cow. But he wasn't sure what he should do, so he stopped after the first one fell. By the time he radioed me an I told him to drop the second calf or bull they had put some distance between him and them. THis was his first moose ever and he shot it with his GreatGrandFathers .308 that was bought back in the early 60's.

Will get pics up early next week.

Congratulations on getting the calf, too bad you didn't take out another moose but what the heck. Yes it was a wet week! 6 days of solid wind and rain up here. The week before it was hotter than hell. Never know what your going to get. :spinning:
