Bull Moose; Antler growth

Driving down Highway 11/17 yesterday I saw my first moose of the year that had started to grow it's antlers.

I can't remember seeing one so early with antlers.

It was definately nice to see though as I turned the car around to show the kids.

A friend of mine mentioned he saw a buck on fri. That was sprouting lil nubs already. We are heading to Algonquin for some moose viewing next month and by third week in may we usually see a variety of sizes of antler growthw some even have palms starting by then..it amazes me how fast they grow..think about that guy u saw, nubs now and in about 140 days he could have a 60 inch rack :yikes:

I was talking to a guy at work today who had a deer on his lawn this weekend with half a rack still on. I can't really explain that one :crazy:

Almost know it all
went out here in thunder bay yesterday to look at deer by the mission marsh and saw a few bucks with little 1 inch ish nubs and a few head butting too
winter time with snow and ice means ICE FISHING
