I am proud to say that my camp partners and I have raised 7 new hunters into our fraternity, both sons and daughters as well as others.
We also brought in a few newbies over the years and they have done very well.
Lets share your own experiences with young hunters success and also talk about techniques to get them the experience they need.
We started our sons at age four with shooting .22 shorts at beer bottle caps on a stump, of course dads were right behind them helping to coach safety all the way.
My boys learned to shoot with both eyes open and prefer iron sights. Both are excellent wing shots now as well. Much better than the old man is.
The lads are really into long range shooting now, merging into use of scopes as we go after moose more.
