With this impending National cris, a coup really it is imperative that we make our voices heard to the Governor General of Canada who will have the final say as to if the the proposed Coalition forms a government. If you don't want Stephan Dion as PM and Jack Layton as Finance minister you need to write the GG and say so. If you choose to be respectful of the office and adress her by her official title and include your full name and mailing address. A coalition Government would surely move to ban several types of firearms if not all of them, they have made that clear and the Bloc is also in step with that. Ignore this impending disaster at your peril folks. My letter: Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D. Governor General of Canada Greetings, As an adult and law abiding citizen of this great country I feel that the current events in our parliament need the the input and comment of Canadians now. Canadians were asked to elect a government just a few weeks ago and did so in a democratic manner. The people have spoken. The results of the election have clearly stated that the Liberal party of Canada and the New Democratic party of Canada were "not" what citizens wanted as a government. This electoral statement is now the second time it elects a Conservative government, certainly not an accident. This proposed coalition will now reverse this recent electoral decision. Ultimately these two parties don't have enough seats to form a government so the balance of power will fall to the Bloc Quebecois, a party whose sole reason for being is to destroy Canada, Treason really. In these challenging economic times it would also send a message of instability to world markets and ordinary Canadians and businesses would likely suffer even more than the present crisis dictates. The Liberal party of Canada and the New Democratic party of Canada a well as the Bloc Quebecois would deny Canadians a voice in selecting a government. To allow this blatant power grab to proceed is morally wrong and an insult to all Canadians who participated in the democratic process outlined by our constitution. Respectfully, Terence Malone XXX My adress XXXXX XXX XXX note: she can be emailed at info@gg.ca. |

I have emailed and faxed my letter. Fax may be the best method given the short time before the decision. I have also copied my MP but he is a Conservative Cabinet minister ( Public Safety ). |

I'm 26 years old and have voted in a few elections now and i'm wondering what the point of voting anymore is. Canada voted the Tories into office, which means in a democracy, they lead this country. This does not mean that other parties can join together and out vote canadian voters. I definately believe this is treason, exceptionally written letter too! |

Email sent: If the prior election battle was neck in neck I could understand the legitimacy of a coalition party with the second most popular party. However the Liberals sunk to almost historic lows and the NDP continue to sputter on. Now they think they can jump in bed with separatists and spend, spend, spend. We are not in the same economic turmoil that the States is in, but will be if the Coalition goverment is allowed. Michael Boulanger, CA Cambridge, On |

They cut each other up, run each others party down and then jump into bed with each other and the bloc seperatists just because Harper is trying to straighten out the country. If they git in I wouldnt be surprised to see hunting banned. Bunch of gggdam tree huggers. |

I use to vote for a particular party but as I get older I just vote to try and stop a majority goverment. There is not one party that I see really worth voting for but atleast if they are kept as a minority we have a better chance of keeping them in check!

We have no control over a minority goverment. Look what's happened, if it was a mojority the goverment could focus on what's really important not a sociaists view and a sepertist who would love to break up our country holding power. Just look at the tape on tv. Bunch of losers sitting around with smug looks on their faces as if saying yeah we'll get them. Talking with the guys at work one thing is for sure next time around PC wins in a landslide. This is all such a big joke. |

Take a kid hunting...you'll need someone to drag it when you get older! They are our future. | |

unfortunately harper with the bloc by his side did the same to turner . harper really wants a re-election so he can get a majority thats why he's been so arrogant and challenging the opposition. unfortunately he's gonna bugger everything up for us by forcing dion/layton to form a coalition. the liberals are just making things even worse for themselves. i can see a majority conservative government next election. |

To me I can not see anyone worth voting for but what should be seen is the fact that the oppostion in Canada is elected and our system does allow a vote of non confidence when there is a minority goverment in power. So if this is upsetting to some voters I think lashing out at the opposition is not the answer. If this is something that troubles some voters than they should try have things change through reform. As for Mr. Harper and the Conseritives I think that this has been a clear message to him and his party that a minority goverment does not rule the house. This is a democracy and not a dictatorship and what I think you will see from this is a budget that is more inline with what the country needs during these times. I still think that there will be a vote of non confidence in the new year. Like I said there is no party worth voting for but all we can hope is that there is not a majority goverment in power. -Crazy 8 |
