What do you log or keep track of for whitetail or any hunted animal for that matter? The reason I ask as I sit here tonight looking over trail cam photos from the last three years I have noted that the big bucks are coming in and around Oct 25 to the first week of Nov. the last three years in a row...granted the does and smaller bucks will come around most of the time...temp has been relatively the same as well.
I am curious to know what you all keep in terms of records and do you see a pattern in them when checking back over several years?

For the past 25 years, I've maintained a daily journal of my hunting trips. I try to document the day's weather and a synopsis of what everybody saw and did including a play-by-play if someone shoots one.

I also carry a camera with me which compliments the journal. I've written enough to fill 2 journals and have 3 large photo albums

Since I have 25 years of information, I've decided to put all the stories and photos into a book. I've been working on the book for about 9 months and am just about finished. It's gonna be a long one - 280 pages but should be a good product when it's published.

Sam
