When are we going to stop them. This is getting out of control and once again nothing will be done about it.

Because the police, courts, and government don't want to make any waves or we will have another Oka Crisis.

tough to charge them with trespass when they say they have rights to all the land in Canada not to mention if no one had a video how can u prove where the shot was taken from.

the old guy should have trail cams lining his property and signage letting trespassers etc know they are on camera.

hell he could even put up tree stands with mannequins sitting in hunter orange to ward people off.

I don't condone what was done and feel many natives take liberty's when it comes to hunting. if u live in Canada we should all have the same rules , I don't give a shit if your great great great great grand father was native. Nor do I care for the current system that was written over 100 years ago, time to make some changes,

Not gonna happen.

Too many bleeding hearts. How many illegal Native blockades have there been the past 5 years? Well I may agree with some of the issues the Natives are protesting against, I don't always agree with their tactics.

Remember Oka, ask Marcel Lemay's family if there was any justice.

Besides, if someone is found guilty of trespassing they get a $75 fine. Might as well just trespass and if you get caught, it is cheaper then leasing land.

They have absolutely no right to trespass. Period. And the landowner can charge them himself. The CO's can charge them under FWCA and will carry much more weight than with the TPA. This looks like a lack of evidence and credible witnesses willing to testify. I had this occur on my property had a similar experience with a deer. CO's were ready to charge, but a witness wouldn't go to court due to him being married to a native, (really nice couple so I understand why). What I found worked best was to let the natives in the area think your crazier than them. And its amazing at how nice they treat me now. lol. And the CO's are now present around my land a lot and that has seemed to fix the problem in my area. It is a lot of paperwork to charge a native but any CO I know will charge them if they have a open shut case. No doubt they get away with a lot more than us.

There are no elk on my hunting lands and I don't feed them. Just wanted to get that out there first. lol. I do not like seeing deer or elk that get too dependent and comfortable with humans. Hard to make a judgement without knowing what evidence there is but for sure they always get treated with kid gloves. How many tags do natives get?

Does it even matter how many tags they get? Just saying it won't make a difference if they want to shoot an elk.

They have their own draw. But I'm sure they really don't care. Its funny how they are the worst land stewards yet say they are the best.

Why should he spends thousands of dollars and time to protect the provinces game on his property?
