This isn't just any old big buck day. This is hosted at the Peterborough Fish & Game Club where we will have 3-D Archery shooting, Action shooting demonstrations, medieval fighting demonstrations, pellet gun shooting for kids, vendors and then of course big buck scoring by FROW!

This is a family day so bring them all!

Here's the show flyer:

Hey folks,

this event isn't that far away and I can tell you that it's going to be a great day. If you've never shot 3D archery before and want to try it out in a non-competitive format, this is your chance. Believe me, once you try it you'll be hooked.

And if you are into competitive archery, come on out and have some fun and some laughs with the rest of us.

After the event, I want to extend the invitation to board members to come on over to my place for a barbeque and social. We'll work out food arrangements later when we have an idea of who is coming but I have a big backyard and would love to have guys from the boards over to talk and have a good time.

Everyone could bring their bows and shoot in the yard. We could also bring broadheads and give guys a chance to test their broadheads out before heading to the woods in October. We could even have a broadhead swap where everyone can let others test out various broadheads they have kicking around. These are just a few ideas.

What do you all think? Anyone interested?

I'm sure I might be able to make it. I really enjoy going to these events. The barbecue sounds like a great idea Paul. How about a wildgame barbcue?
It would be great to see what everyone is using for bows, this could give me a better idea on what to buy.

that's just it Alf. You'll get a chance to see what other's are shooting, perhaps even try out some other guys bows.

As for broadheads, I really like the idea of everyone bringing an old head they have lying around or their practice heads and let others test out various heads. It would be a great way to see what you like before buying it.

Even without the broadhead testing, if you have something you like already, you can sight them in here and perhaps other's will learn something from what you're doing.

Beyond all that, it will be a great time meeting everyone.

Not sure if there will be a B&C measurer at this point or not Craig. TrophyTracker would be the closest to this event but I don't know what his schedule is like. Follow up with me closer to the event and I'll have a better idea.

Just an update, the show is next weekend and Ken Capling, the world champion moose caller will be there doing seminars, product demos and selling his calls.

Whitetail Institute will be there with food plotting necessities and ready to give any instruction you need on how to prepare and maintain effective food plots.

Vendors will be on site with great archery gear to get you ready for the hunt.

The event went really well. We had hot & sunny weather which made for a really nice day. We were so busy that I really didn't take the time to snap many photos.

We had about 50 racks brought in. The largest typical that hadn't been previously measured was a 174 gross with a 25+ inch inside spread!

Snortwheeze brought his booner in and had it on display for the day. We also had the 212+ incher and the 200+ incher shot by the two kids.

There were handgun shooting demonstrations, archery demonstrations, the 3-D archery course, Ken Capling's moose calling seminar, air gun shooting for the kids and some great vendors. All in all it was a great day.

It was a great set up. I stopped in for a few minutes with my kids, could not stay long with my 21 month son. Sorry I didn't get to speak with Paul, you seemed quite busy, I spoke with Keith for a moment. I wanted to take in the seminar with Ken but my son would have been too distracting. That was quite a display of trophy bucks, just awesome.

I just had someone point this out to me and thought I'd share it. I thought it was a positive step for sportsmen and women. Apparently it was in print too.
