Most of the weapons seized were knives that have internal spring to open. Just sounds like cops with an axe to grind. Go chase after real criminals. You know, the violent offenders, corporate fraudsters and the like.....

Two northwestern Ontario men have been formally charged following a weapons bust in Manitoba last month.

Police said the men, aged 70 and 71, were selling spring-loaded knives, which are prohibited in Canada, as well as improperly registered guns and other items at the Brandon Gun and Hobby Show on Dec. 12.

The men were arrested at the gun show and police later searched a home in Dryden, Ont.

In all, some 150 weapons were seized as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

One of the men has been tagged with a 66 charges, including 25 for the possession of a prohibited weapon for the purpose of trafficking and another 24 for unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.

Other charges relate to transferring a firearm without authority and possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm in an unauthorized place.

That man is a licensed firearms dealer in Ontario who has illegally transported and possessed restricted and prohibited firearms within Manitoba in the past, RCMP said.

The other man, a friend, has been given a single charge of possession of a prohibited weapon for the purpose of trafficking.

Both men are from Dryden, about 575 kilometres east of Brandon.
