My father's first turkey hunt

To make a long story short, we called and one jake strutted right to our decoy set-up we had 20 yards out. As soon as he got in front of the jake decoy I sent a bolt flying and hit him right where it counted, he didn't even go 5 yards and he keeled over. I ran out as fast as I could to collect my bird cause there were other ones gobbling not too far away. I no sooner got back inside the blind and two more jakes came running right up to our decoy set-up. Pops shouldered his Ithaca 12 gauge and his bird went down right where he stood. Our hunt was over at 6:30 am that opening morning. This was my father's first turkey ever, and my second with the crossbow.

Now that is pretty awesome. You must of had things scouted out pretty good! It feels pretty good to share hunting time with family. Traditionally I think that has always been a big part of hunting. :)

Yep, that's the way I feel when I;m hunting with family. The way I take it is when I take my father out hunting with me, I'm giving back to him what he gave me when I was young.

My father is my favorite hunting partner of all time. If he ever ends up in a wheel chair, I'll wheel him into the woods if I have to just so I can see that smile on his face from being out in the woods. And just seeing that smile on his face, will make my day. :)

Nice birds guys.....very nice!
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end
