These guys are comming out of the wood work. They have no pattern.Just when, I think i know where they like to enter and exit the woods. They come out in a different are.The three jakes are now falling a hen.Three midsize long bears have been following a hen for three or four days.a really nice long bear hasn't found a hen as of yesterday morning.I took some pictures, but the camera is acting up and no time to check them out.Turkeys do not care for soya beans, lol.Brent J.. |

greenhorn I got a schooling the other day. I thought I was quaranteed to see them in a corn field, so off I went to scout it out. Sneaking down the fence row I catch something moving in the field........the bean field that is!! Two toms and 8 hens. Maybe it's a little difficult to strut in the corn stubble. I watched them for a while then backed out un-noticed. Half way back to the truck I spooked 4 hens that were heading towards the first group of birds. In the same field 400 yards away there were 2 more toms with 6 hens. If I hadn't made it out to scout, I'd probably be setting up on the corn field opening morning. Now I know that the bean field might have better odds. Now the serious scouting begins, starting with the bean field. Good to see guys out doing their homework.....I hope you bag a 25LB'er. |
