Right on, can't wait to see the pics. |

Way to go DD. Here's how my morning went. After putting the bird to bed lastnight I waited until dark and snuck out of my blind. I was back in the blind by 4:45 and heard my first gobble at 5:30. The hen decoy was stuck out in the field at 20 yards and looking pretty I let out a few tree yelps then shut up while he continued to gobble. For the last week I have watched them gather in this field just after day break. It started to rain and I was wondering if they would head for the fields or stay in the woods. I could tell by his gobbles that he was heading the other way. Hoping for a break in the weather I stuck it out in the blind until 10:30 then packed everything up. 1st sit down, many more to come.

Congratulations on your bird, fishnhunt... I was skunked today. I don't think I was meant to be a turkey hunter... <_< Had 6 deer and five hens this morning, and 5 deer this afternoon. I didn't see or hear any turkeys on my afternoon sit, so I packed up at about 6:55 pm and walked back to the truck, then I realized I had left my range finder where I was sitting. So I jump in the truck and start driving down the tractor trail and I look in the first smaller field and wouldn't you know it, there's a big Tom in the far corner of it. Then I continue to the bigger field where I was sitting and again, there's a Tom and a deer right at the exact spot where my decoys where set up just a half hour earlier. I swear them birds know how to tell time... lol I used just the one hen this morning hunt and a feeding flock for the afternoon hunt. Anyway, here's a few pics I took of the deer when I was sitting. The one on the far left hand side is a young buck with a doe with her two yearlings. ![]() Doe and a yearling ![]() The one in the foreground is a mature buck.
