Hi All,
After hunting last weekend with no success, and nothing this morning, I went out tonight for an evening hunt and filled my first Turkey tag!!

I surprised three gobblers on my way in to my area, who are probably still running for the hills (; , and chose a spot beside the same soya field where I ha taken my two Does last fall.

All afternoon I head absolutely NOTHING!! Not a peep, gobble or cluck anywhere!! I had a singel hen decoy out about 20 yards into the field in front of where I was hiding in a drainage ditch.

At about 6:00 pm, I noticed a single red-head gobbler making his way through the field about 130 yards from me. It seemed that no matter what I did for calling (Box call or slate) he was totally uninterested in my decoy This went on until about 6:30 when he slowly started making his way over.

Long story short, at 6:57 pm, I got to break in my new shotgun on this 19 lb mature Tom. His beard is 9.25 inches long and the spurs were 3/4 of an inch.

All in all, not a bad introduction!! Now on to fill a second tag!

Right on, congrats!!!! :wOOT:
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end

Congrats Brian. Nice Bird.

Was going top play hooky today and go try for one, but yesterday coming back from Pembroke, I noticed just out of that city that "woops" no brak pressure on the truck. I can tell you the driving was strategically done to reach Aylmer.

Truck in shop today, I believe a break line must of broke on the old companion.

Going to be warm this week for hunting.
