Well I must be doing something wrong. All I saw today were a few single hens that looked like they were nesting. Heard 1 only gobbler at sun up and he never even paid attention to my calling. He must have gone silent as soon as he hit the ground. Who said it was gonna get better as the season got on?

Me too boys I had the same thing. Not sure if the hunting pressure has them spooked or what. I did see a nice a tom behind some no trespassing signs but he still had 4 hens with him and more importantly it said no trespassing. Someday he will cross that line and he will be bigger then. :cheers:

You're not alone, I had a bad morning too.

This morning I decided to go hunt a different field than the one I've been hunting in, as I haven't seen nor heard anything since the day my arrow sailed over that toms back. Next thing I know the farmer comes across the field and he tells me I was in the wrong field, and that the turkeys were in the field I decided not to hunt...

Then i'm not losing my touch it looks. Hell I had my first Tom down in only 1 hr of hunting this year. Well I'm not going to give it up yet.

that sucks that you guys aren't hearing birds.i don't want to sound like a pain in the rear but around here they are going real good yet.i shot my second tom on wed. morn. two toms came strutting in and i could hear two more gobbling behind them . my brother also called in 2 birds on wed. and shot one. my taxidermy customers that still have tags are doing very well the last two weeks and said the hens are nesting and the toms are coming to calls very good. going out in the morn. to call for a friend. good luck all you guys.
