Hi All, After trying unsuccessfully for the last few weekends to fill my second tag, I finally connected this morning in a big way!! I was in position shortly after 4:15 this morning, hunting the same field I shot my first Tom in. I set up my Hen and Jake decoys about 20 yards out ad got down into a gulley. After some soft calling with my slate call, I got at least 5 or 6 birds gobbling back from just under 150 yards or so, in the tree line. I remembered some of the sage advice I have recieved both here and on another site and kept the clucking and purring to a minimum, with short intervals about every 15 or 20 minutes. At 5:15, the gobbling went very quiet and I kept up only a few little clucks and yelps every so often. I heard some gobbling, but it semed to be going away from me, down the ravine I was kneeling in. Just as I was sure the morning was not going to be easily productive, I poked my head up and saw two Toms coming in to my decoys about 60 yards out. They had been sitting silent the whole time, and were now making their way throught the field. Initially I thought they were heading away from me, but when I brought up the bino's to get a closer look, realized they were actually headed straight at me! To my furher surprise, I saw they weren't alone! About 8 other "red-heads" were hot on their heels!! I checked out the rest of the incoming birds and realized they all seemed like the young jakes I had seen over the last two weeks, with barely any beards in the bunch. The two closest, which I had seen first, were definitely not monsters, but were the biggest of the group. I kept clicking and purring and they slowly made their way towards my setup. I am not sure if this is normal, (Being a Newbie Turkey Guy), but someone must have given the signal, because every one of the jakes put his head down and they came in on the run!! I put the shotgun bead on the closest of the two Toms I had originally spotted and gave him a copper plated lead injection in the side of the head and neck. (Thanks for helping me to pattern for this BTW Northerner!!) He did a headstand into the dirt and after a 1 or 2 second delay, I had every one of those turkeys fly directly over my head and behind me into the ravine. What a sight!! Not something I will forget soon. Anyway, enough talk, here is the photos!! Thanks BrianV ![]() ![]()

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end
