This pair of hens have a pretty good set of beards on them. (Picture from Strutzone website)

They should make them free, too much interbreeding maybe. Cool pic though!

Only seen a couple in real life. Their beards were only 2" at the max.

now would most people shoot/not shoot if a bearded hen presented a shot, would it me a moral thing, like shooting hen ducks, or would you just want the tom/jake for the trophy aspect of it? Wondering what I would do if the situation presented itself, so guess wondering what the turkey hunting society norm would be?

In most situations, I beleive I would pass. But then again I'd might not if we were down to the last couple of days.

The action on my Mossberg 930 would be working if I saw that!
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end

for me i personally wouldn;t shoot one, but would pat you on the back and expect breakfast if you did. Its a legal bird, and should be left at that, next we would be getting into we shouldnt hunt on Sundays. The problem with morals is that we each have our own set of them, its like shooting a moose calf or eating veal, if its legal have at er

It would take about a second to decide. The amount of time to click off the safety on my 1100.
