here are some pictures and comments from hunters over in New Zealand, a truly different outlook on hunting since most of the animals over there are not native.![]() Come out and shoot as many Turkeys as want, shoot more than you want I have mates here next week from Canada, that will shoot few with bow,but i'm sure they will have more fun with semiatuo shotgun. We have White and Brown Turkeys too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We have Thousands of them,i don't "hunt" just cull them as they are a pest here,no season or bag limit. Ill find some photos for you. If you get to New Zealand, you are welcome to shoot every Turkey you see

Yeah I caught that on the New Zealand forum. They have Merriam's turkeys all over there and there is no closed season on turkeys and they are all over. Shooting them from the tree and as many as you want is normal. Very different. I'm sure they taste the same though! |

I didn't even know they had them over there? |
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end

Cool that they are plentiful there. I noticed that there is a lot of focs on NZ and Argentina for sportsmen now. Too bad it will likely over exploit and turn into rich only areas to go. That is a huge pet peeve of mine. |

Here are few more photos.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good afternoon of "real" game birds. ![]() We have no predators larger than feral cats here in New Zealand which do kill young Turkeys. I'm a Dairy Farmer so see Turkeys as a pest to be shot on sight as do most Farmers. There are few Amercians and other overseas hunters coming to New Zealand to hunt Turkeys now. We have Peacoks here which are great sport

In NZ we just dont know how blessed we are with oppotunities to hunt. I was in a gun shop the other day talking to a person from Ontario. I was telling him about our roar just starting. We worked out I meant the rut. Then he asked about tags. Pfffft no tags here Brother. Pigs, deer, turkeys, shark wrestling have no seasons here. |

non residents do not need an outfitter to hunt any game in New Zealand. Turkeys are no sport in New Zealand,as they are not hunted much. Like one member said"much like shooting Rough Grouse" |
