I've always wondered this, I think there is a limit to how far north they are, but not sure of it.

They are now north of Parry Sound around Dunchurch. North bay can't be too far away.

A bud hunts deer on St Joe Island , says lots of them . Other buds that live up Bancroft way say they got them . IMO , 46 will be open sometime soon just like 53 and 56 . I can remember the MNR denying any turks in 56 not that long ago .

The only things that makes sense is there are a few cottages and might be a released bird. I'm sure the wolves took care of it.

As far as I am concerned, turkeys can survive where ever deer can. They have quite a variable diet and cold is not a problem for them. Deep snow is the biggest problem since they spend so much time walking but if they stay in deer yards or around people they can make it through tough winters anywhere.

you see the odd one around this neck of the woods (thunder bay) I dont think theres any population of them actually here, but I think they are released birds. There are a few areas you would see them, and people use to raise them, and they either escaped, or they cut them loose. Impressive that they could survive year to year here though!

Folks give this article a read. It talks about the eastern wild turkey study that took place in the Sudbury District.

As of right now the most northern birds we have in Ontario are located on St.Joseph Island which is about 50 minutes east of Sault St. Marie. These birds are true wild eastern turkeys. and released by the MNR and NWTF.

I have seen turkeys around Vermillion Bay which is west of Dryden. However, most likely these birds are not wild and considered "esacapees" from pen raised birds.

I 've seen about 10 of them while deer hunting in Emo On.
And I 've seen 2 in Larder Lake (about 1 hour from Timmins) last spring. Also seen 3 in the Warren area(near Sudbury)last summer.
THEY ARE NOT COMING NORTH, THEY ARE ALREADY HERE...

Shane or Renegade might be able to help out with that.
