A buddy at work needs a new gun. He wants a semi-auto and was wondering if a 3" shell is good enough or should he get one chambered for 3 1/2"? He's just getting into turkey hunting too. |
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end

Cc. it all depends on what else he wants to use it for. l shot 2 3/4 and it's fine for me.l use it for turkey, goose, duck, deer.but if he can afford it get what is comfortable with ,he has to know 3 1/2 will kick like a mule, |

I have a gun that shoots all three, and have only ever bought one box of 3 1/2" shells.......I still have a few left if I'm not mistaken......they hurt way to much to shoot on a consistant basis. |

I like my 3 1/2 browning gold, semi-auto. Seems that you can reach that extra 10-15 yards where the always get hung up out of reach. For the kick, I don't feel anything when I have a big tom infront of me.

https://sites.google.com/view/north-river-outfitters/home You're not paying for a stay at the Hilton, you're paying to participate in nature. Anything can happen. I work part time so I can hunt full time YOU'LL NEVER SHOOT THE BIG ONE IF YOU SHOOT THE SMALL ONE FIRST | |

The 3.5 inch gives a little more shot, but not necessarily anymore velocity, which many people seem to think is the case. I don't think there is a turkey or goose out there that a 3.5" shell will kill, that a 3" shell won't. |

Changable chokes, matt black or camo and as short as possible for ease moving to a shot. 3" is fine, no need to hurt yourself. |
