As of right now I don't hunt turkey but thought I would share an observation. While out shed hunting on windy days I get within easy bow range on some big toms. Yesterday I got within 10 feet of a pair and they didn't bolt immediately offering me lots of time for a shot. It seems they would rather hide than run or there is just to much movement going on that they don't see me coming. Has anyone else noticed this ?

Hmmm that is interesting. I know on windy days that sitting against a tree and calling is not effective. Turkey hunting in general is not nearly as productive. They do move less. Interesting observation. Note to self.....really windy....maybe try still hunting the turkey (bush wacking).
