I'm in waterloo and I'm still seeing huge flocks like its still winter? Anyone in their noticing this or are they breaking up? I drove home this morning and saw some Toms strutting out there but still well over 20 birds were out there. I'd take a picture but might be too far out in the field.
I didn't fight my way to the top of the food chain to be a vegetarian.

I've been watching a nice flock all winter, and in the last few days they are no where to be found. I think they are starting to break up now.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end

Went out after work this morning. Wasn't seeing much at all. Then i saw 3 jakes going across a field. Behind then was one hen, two nice toms, putting on a big show, followed her everywhere. Watched them for about half an hour. The jakes were on a mission to cross the road and go to another field but the toms just followed the hen like usual. Not sure if crossing the road was the normal morning ritual and the toms were thrown off by the hen or if the toms had run off the jakes earlier and they were exploring some new territory.
This is not a wintering area, or normally is not. The birds usually only show up here in the spring, so in my area, i would say they are starting to seperate and move, specially seeing only one hen.
