Collapsed Decoys?

A lot of us have the bobbleheads and foam decoys. When you take them outta the box they are all disfigured and have lots of creases in them. Some you can run them under hot water and they go back to their original shape. The foam ones are harder to get back. I have the three set up in my basement on their stakes, hoping they get their shape back as much as possible.

When you take them into the field, do you roll them up or carry them in a bag so they don't get creased from the time you leave the house till you set them up? i'm thinking on using a bag for transport. I want them to keep their shape as much as possible.

Any ideas/recommendations?

Yeah, stuffing the foam ones for awhile works great. As for the bobble head decoys, all you do with them is put them in the bathtub in hot water for a few minutes for them to take their shape.

Now if the newspaper things works, what about when I go to transport them to the field, will they get all crinkled up again or will they be easier to bring back to original shape?

After the newspaper they should be ok, Cc. Just try not to fold them up as much as they were when they were packaged.

I have been stuffing my foam ones with newspaper for a few days & they are fine for the rest of the season.

I only flatten & fold in half them & put them in the pouch in the back of my vest when transporting.

hey cc this is what i do,open the belly slit a bit more and then blow up ballons inside the cavity on either side of the stake every time you set up your decoys,it will puff them up and also stop them from spinning around the stake on windy days.get a bag of 12 inch ballons at the dollar store and keep them in your vest and thet should last you the season.

Just got some new Flambos which I stuffed with bubblewrap until "Turkey Eve" when I have all the gear ready to go early opening morning.
I have another old Flambo which is about 7yrs old and has held up surprisingly well .

7yr old Flambo top ( not stuffed incidently and I painted the head/wingtips last year )
New Flambo bottom
