Just wondering if and how many first timers are out there for turkey hunting this year?Im sure I cant be the only one.How confident do you feel that you can take at least one bird this year.I think I have done enough scouting and research that I am confident enough that I can take 2 birds this year.If indeed I can bag at least a jake in the first week or so,I will wait it out and see if I can bag a tom before May31st.Thats how confident I am,but I may be laughed at if I dont get one at all. |

I'm in the same boat as you. First time for me too. I'm all geared up......undertaker turkey choke, gobblestalker slate call (with extra striker), 3" turkey loads, diaphram call, 2 hen decoys, 1 jake decoy, half mask, crow call and my buddy has a ground blind. Sure hope we dont get skunked. |

This will be my first year trying for turkey. We know there are lots of birds around on the farm where we are hunting since the owner has been giving us updates as to where the birds are which is good because we are hunting in Southern Ontario and can't do any scouting. I have a diaghram call and a box call. I have been practicing a lot with the diaghram and it may just be me but I think it sounds good. I will have to wait and see what the birds think. |

This will be my first time as there were no wild turkeys on Vancouver Island. Bought what I figured I'd need, took the course which in my opinion was a waste of 8 hours (could have been 4 hrs). Now all I need is for that foolisk turkey to walk in front of me. GOOD LUCK to ALL Turkey Hunters this season.
