Went out at first light this morning. hit the quaker boy crankin crow call and they lit up the woods. 4 different gobblers, all in the same general area. An area i can't hunt, about 200 yards off. I finally found them with my bino's. Everytime i used that call, they started up. 06:25 two flew down to a field and started heading for the woods. The other two flew but only to other trees closer to a field edge. I gave a few clucks but nothing. Then i did a fly down sequence and nothing. used the crow call and gobbles started up. The other two flew down to totally different areas and broke up. They were headed away from me, last i heard of them.
My only hope for that group is that when the season starts maybe they will get bumped and start roosting over in my area.
Same thing happened last year, birds all stayed over where we can't hunt. All four birds were on a mission, i would bet there was hens that i never saw.
Oh well, it nice to hear the gobbling again. 6 deer came out into the field as well.

I've called in Toms across a field at least 200 yards away. Was all set up and hen called like crazy, thats when my husband and I sat close to each other and I shot and hit my Tom that I had lined up and my husband missed his.I believe there is a pic of it that Buck'n'Rut posted. DON"T GIVE UP

Those crow calls are pretty amazing. They'll induce a gobble when nothing else can. Keep after them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't give up on those birds, I bet you can call them over to your area.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end

Ran into the same problem the last couple of years, only managed to calle dthem over twice and only once into gun range. This year I have already seen that they are roosting on the right side of the fence. Just got to hope no one bumps them before the season now.

CC: if they have company over there it can sure be challenging to get them to come to you and be with in gun range at the same time.

try a hen and a jak decoy, that should bring them toms a running,it's good to hear something but they need to see something to,that's where the decoys come in.
