Who is using what for turkeys on Friday. I will be using my Excalibur Exocet 200 with a gold tip carbon and a G5 Tekan mechanical head. I will be sitting behind a portable blind and using a box call and a hen decoy , maybe 2.

Rick
Chevy Trucks, Black Widow bows, Sako rifles and my grandkids.

I'll have my shotgun, ground blind, 2 hens and 1 jake.

I take both my bow and my shotgun with me. Since I am mostly a meat hunter, I try and get the bird within bow range (less then 25 yards), but if it hangs out at 35 yards, the gun comes up and I got me a bird.

I use a Excalibur Relayer and Rem 3" turkey slayer.

Good luck to all this year.

My Guardian w/ Axis FMJ tipped with Spitfires and I'll be sitting inside my portable blind. My decoys will be a bobble head hen and a Flambeau Master Series hen and maybe my Flambeau Master Series jake. Calls will be a Quaker Boy triple threat with two strikers, my Lynch's World Champion Box call (Model 102) and a mouth diaphram call. Oh yeah, can't forget the ThermaCell. (just incase)

Good luck to all of you.

I wanted to start the hunt with my crossbow, but my shotgun is shooting so sweet right now I just may have to bring it instead.
Here, in Ontario a bow and a gun at the same time are a big no-no, other wise I would bring my compound and a shottie..
I will be out for the day on Friday, but home for the weekend, my wife is doing her hunting course this weekend so I am at home (scouting from the mini-van.. ) for Saturday and Sunday, back out again for Monday after you guys get the birds all worked up for me.. :D
Good luck everyone!!

Are you sure about that, Pydpiper?

Not saying you're wrong, but that's the first time I hear that.

Dave you are mistaken on this. Here in Ontario you are allowed to carry two (or more) hunting tool of choice as long as it is a legal hunting tool at the time. This is, in archery only, you can only have archery equipment, no guns allowed. In a shotgun season, you can have bow equipment, shotguns, muzzle loaders, but no rifles.

I believe that the only time you can not have more then one hunting tool of choice out of a case at a time is when hunting migratory birds.

I have checked more then once with the MNR and they told me to be safe and have fun.Now they did not really want to confirm that it was legal, but they finally did.

I believe you're correct with this information, Tom.

I have checked this out as well and was basically told the same thing.

Going with a buddy who has never shot one before, we will be hunting or at least starting out of the blind.

I'll third that as that is the information I've received every time I've asked the MNR. And I asked multiple times to ensure I would get a consistent answer.

I'm planning to use my Hoyt Vectrix with the new Striker Magnums...unless the weather is really bad, then I'll be using the shotty.

It may be later in the week by the time I get out or maybe just the following weekend. My plan is to use my Beretta Urika for the first bird and then try to get a second with my bow.
