Wouldn't cooperate for me. But I was close enough to hear the fly down, they just wouldn't come out to the field and play.

NatV and I had about 6 come in, but wouldn't give a clear shot.

Then we had two guys go walking right past us on private land....Lovely!
'
No more seen after that so we called it a morning, will try again this afternoon.

I got to my blind at 05:30, Gobbler started talking at 06:00 about 200 yds away. He kept it up for 1/2 an hour gobbling every 4-5 minutes. I let him gobble for 10 minutes before I gave a soft tree call. He answered right away. I would keep him guessing and only answered sporadically with a few yelps and clucks, 06:30 fly down. He went quiet for about 15 minutes then I gave a few yelps and he was coming in. About 06:46 he and a hen showed up at the edge of my clearing . They walked right out in the open with him strutting. I let them play a little and lowered the hammer at 25 yds. The hen jumped up and set right down , she didn't know what had happened and stayed until I stood up. Then vamoosed real fast LOL.

 Congrats to all that got out and filled a tag,
l guess roosting is roasting, the morning went well, had 6 hens come and try to beat up my hen decoys, had 2 hens and a full strut jake out, they left and then l heard a shot ring out down the field,it was one of my partners,it was Seadog it is his first bird ever.Half hour went be and another shot in the same direction, this time it was The Kid he got one.Had 3 more hens go by me but still no tom,it was about 930 when l heard a lone gobble coming from the bushlot in front of me,l gave him a few yelps and a few clucks and he was hooked. He finally came into veiw about the same time he spoted the jake, well that must have pissed he off cause he came in on a string.I let he get within 3ft of the jake before l let the hammer down on him.So the morning end up with 3 birds for four hunters.
Here are some pics.

Hunted from 5:30 - 8:30 this morning. We heard a distant gobbler and had a hen come in to check out our decoy spread. Hopefully tomorrow and Sunday lead to some closer encounters.

Well it was a long day....heard a few gobble's this morning but all were a long way off ....the closest was a couple hundred yard's on the other side of the swamp...needless to say he would/could not get a cross we had him moving up and down the other side but that was it....after the morning sit we (Largeone and myself) went and checked out a few other spots ...nothing happening so it was back to the spot we sat this morning...nothing there until about half hour left and then i seen a tom in the next field over...managed to call him in withen about 60-70yard's and i don't know what happened sumthing spooked him...he strutted once at that distance then closed up and booked it for the bush... :crycry: ...man i thaught we were going to bag one then....well we have split up for the morning hunt...i'm going to sit on the back side of the swamp and we'll see what happen's in the morning...

Good luck turkey hunter's!!!

Oh ya ..CONGRATS to those of you who filled a tag this morning...great job!!!!

Was out for most of the day yesterday, was lucky enough to know that there was a bunch of birds roosted at my dad's farm. headed there for daylight. walked in to where I wanted to be and got set up under a cedar tree. Within 60 yards of a roosted gobbler. There was also another gobbler and three jakes along with about 8 hens. They were on the ground by 6:00am and my hunting partner had tagged out by 6:07am when one of the toms followed 4 of the hens past us at 25 yards. Had a few oppunities at some jakes over the course of the day but past them up knowing that there were other toms in the area. Finally found some more toms around 5:30pm and started to work them but they were henned up. At lease now we have a starting point for next week when we head back out.

Will post pics later today of my buddies tom.
