First bird ever

In WI we only have one 5 day season. The only chance that I was going to get to hunt was Saturday and Sunday. I really wanted to get out as my 8 year old son was looking to go with. Saturday we had excessive winds and elected not to go. That oly left today. We got out earely. My buddy was calling for me. We heard one in the distance and ran to close the gap and re set up. I wasnt sitting a minute and the Tom responded. He responded a minute later this time CLOSER! My gun was up, my sons eyes were the size of quarters and here he came into view about 40 yards all fanned out. Then he put his feathers down. Then fanned up again. I wanted him to come closer but was worried about him catching my son moving, so I let him have it.

First bird ever! (I just started Turkey Hunting last year) What a blast! I think my son even had more fun.

24.5 lbs / 1 in Spurs / 11 in beard

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end
