Its supposed to rain tomorrow and I want to go turkey hunting. I'll be in a ground blind but am I wasting my time going in the rain?

Do you mean they'll be out in open fields in the rain?

I know how you feel, I had booked today and tomorrow off, but due to the rain I decided to go to work, and re-shedule my days off. Bummer.

Yes, a lot of time, birds will be in the open fields, field ages, etc during rain. I saw several out and about today during the rain.

Rain or shine go, you can't kill one from the house. We were out this morning. I popped the question at 05:00 "still want to hunt" as i stood in the rain holding my coffee. The reply was a resounding "Of course" just means 90% of the rest of the hunters in our area are staying home or heading to work.
The birds will usually head out into the middle of the green fields in the rain. I think the noise of the rain in the woods is too much for them hard to pinpoint danger so they get out in the open and rely on their sight more. Thats my theory anyway.
They gobbled late this morning, and then did not get real vocal after that. We had two hens right out in the middle of the field, worked into our decoys nice but nothing following them.
It was nasty out but we had the blind. didn't get anything but better than being at work or stuck in the house.
