Well, after shooting my first bird, I went back to work. I am off all weekend now and wanted to go after #2. The problem is there is no place around Hanover that has tags right now! I went to Canadian tire to buy my first one and right now they are sold out. The MNR is an absolute joke! I am really pissed off about this. I have to drive a half an hour now to get a tag. Just needed to vent a bit.

oh and I wouldn't necessarily blame the MNR. People at Canadian Tire have no clue how to fill out a licence let alone figure out that they are running low on tags and should do something about it.

I even heard one year the MNR was going to find another location besides Crappy in Hanover because they were doing such a poor job of filling out the licences.

The main reason I am mad is that I was told this happened last year too. Can they not figure out how many tags they may need? Year after year........what a disaster.

I'll be out tomorrow, just have to go se Brad at Lake Huron Rod and Gun, he's a good guy to deal with and he says he still has some tags. Have to give some props to him.

Yes and No.

If everyone came in and bought 2 tags you would be out in a hurry. If everyone came in and bought 1 tag you would have 50% left over. If half came in and bought 1 tag and half came in and bought 2 tags you would have 25% left over.

It comes down the people selling the licence

I also heard from another person (Jim Kaufman, Outback Sports) he wanted to sell tags but the ministry said they felt there was no need for someone else to sell them.

It's just my opinion that the ministry is in shambles. The liberals are primarily an urban party and Natural Resouces is a nuisance for them.

Brooke I couldn't agree more on all your points. I'm in the same boat lol))) . Slim thanks for the heads up on the 2 tags. This is my first year shooting a turkey so I'm going through the growing pains of finding a second tag. I'm a shift worker so shooters choice in waterloo is my only option never had a problem there just isn't 24 hours :goodpost:

be nice to see us adopt what I use for Ohio. Online system that you print everything out yourself. The tag is on paper and you complete it and then you attach a home made tag to the bird at the kill site whihc matches the paper form. Both have to be completed and matching.

Once you have bought one turkey licence (verified you have your course) being able to go online and do it sure would be easy.

Brooke the Cherry Chobbler wanted to sell tags too but it has something to do with only 1 issuer in a certain range. (or that's my understanding) Or else they would all have them.

Might even save the gov some money. Neat idea, but then the gov might loose a few jobs.
