Hunting with some senior hunters.
One got a tom and a jake in the first two days.
I had to shoot a jake with a gun since the opportunity knocked when my bow was in a blind 100 yrds away when i was helping get a turk and the decoys out of the field for him. % jakes came so I grabbed up the gun, oh well it was fun.
This other guy has never shot one before, first morning out two big toms come out to his left he never got to shoot though since he couldn't get a clean shot at one or the other. They strutted and gobbled at about 60 yrds from the ole boys for about a half an hour. Was great to watch from where i was and they enjoyed the morning as well anyways. I'm still hoping to get one with the xbow but all i got so far is feathers with the verticle, not enough time practicing. Kisser butttons and bug net are not a great combo either.
Happy with the season thus far though, GREAT.

Good to hear you're having a great time, Rusty.

I'm still working on getting my second and they birds are not co-operating. I was out on Monday morning and only saw and hear hens. Not one gobble to be heard.

Congratulations on the birds you guys got so far.

Good luck for the rest of the season, pal!

I'm done now, just calling for the rest of the season. Two toms came in silent, not strutting. They passed by my blind at about 5 yrds. I took the first one because I thought they would see me lift the bow. It weighed 20.6 and had a 10.25 beard and a 2.5 beard and 7/8 spurs. the jak hammers and zwickey's performed well. I had to put an O ring behind the zwickey fo more drag with the carbon shaft. I'll post sme pics as soon as I get the disc made.
Good luck everyone!
