Anyone getting eaten alive out there yet and need to use the thermacell yet? The black flies were getting pretty bad in my neck of the woods.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end

I haven't had to fire up my ThermaCell yet, but the last time I was out was last Monday. I'll likely have to fire it up next time I go out, which should be sometime this week.

I was talking to my cousin in Val des Mont, QC yesterday and he told me that they are just starting to bite now. That means the head net is gonna come in handy. Also means that the brook trout fishing is gonna get good, and the ail des bois (wild garlic) picking should be starting by this coming weekend. Gonna have to go out and pick myself some.

Hey Lonewolf we were supposed to go after some specs last year and never did. I should get my Quebec licence de Peche and go and get a feed and help you pick some wild leeks. Been a few years since I had them pickled also.

We can arrange something if you want, ricoh.

Did you feel like going in a creek, or in a backwoods lake?

If we go in the creek we would have to jump in and walk it, and at this time of year if you're not wearing chest waders it can get cold cause in some spots the water gets about chest deep. If we went to a lake we would need a boat and motor, and I sold both of my boats. Can you get your hands on a small boat and motor?

We would have to go in either by ATV or truck, but I don't think I'd want to chance it with a truck that doesn't have a winch on it cause it gets pretty rough in a few spots.

Hey, I just thought of something!

If the argo isn't sold by the time we decide to go we can take that up there and fish right out of that. Not sure how it would be to troll out of though. One thing, it's not as stable as a boat would be. But quite frankly, I'd rather not use it as it is for sale and I just finished doing the tune up on it.

I have the bracket we could mount a motor on, but like I said. I sold both my boats as well as the 9.9.

(Sorry about hijacking your thread Cc)

The mosquitos are starting to bit here in southern Ontario now, I hunt in the swamps mostly but they are there now, I have mine fired up when I am out now. The turkeys are starting to make alot of dustbowls in the last week as well.
