I have both fans and 1 beard drying right now. I've been pouring the salt to them like crazy! The jake has had about 2 weeks and the tom is about 1 week. When will I be able to mount them and hang them? |
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a bowel movement by the clean end

You should be able to tell by the looks of it. You just have to make sure it is completely dried out, otherwise it will start to rot. I usually leave them well into the summer. |

As soon as the fan holds its shape you can get it up on the wall. It won't rot if you have all of the meat and grease removed. Put some borax on it Cc. this is a much effective preservative and will keep the bugs off as salt will not. Let see some pics when it is done.

Borax is the best to use. you can still add it with salt on it. About four weeks and it will be dry enough to put on your plack. |

mine are covered in Borax., i'm just nailing them on the wall in the garage. I figure a good 4 weeks covered in Borax and they should be rock hard. Within two weeks they hold good. It will all depend on how clean you got them. If there was any meat or fat left the borax will turn it rock hard. |
