This is the second Multi bearded bird I have taken. This bird came in on opening day to the call after leaving a hen in a open field.

I had no idea it had two ropes on it untill after I shot and picked the bird up.

are they not common in your area?
Wonder if there is a correlation between multiple beards and hens with beards, saw 2 hens this spring with beards.
Where i hunt we have taken about a dozen doubles, the biggest was my sons first bird (he was happy he passed on a jake eariler)

congrats on your bird

Dobber, very uncommon to come across any multi here. However there is bearded hens all over. I must have seen 5 different hens this past spring. I have photo's of one that was visiting my feeder last winter.

The first Mullti I took was a triple beard and I have hunted the same area for 5 years without any sign of another :(

Congrats on your sons , did he get it mounted ??

just the fan with spurs, beards and shell casing, his story was in the OMW mag a couple of years ago.

His first big game harvest, i had pics of the jake walking through the decoys but he wanted the boss, not bad for a 13yr old

That is a cool bird, those are thick ropes! I have seen a few double bearded gobblers in Nebraska and Deb got one last year. Congrats on another fine gobbler.
