There is only a couple of months left to go before Turkey season gets going and for sure its a beautful time in woods.Just wondering if anyone has asked permission on some new properties this year? Are you getting ready to knock on doors?Have you done any homework? Myself personally got a sled this winter and had a chance to drive around the trails here locally and found some spots that I know I will knocking on the owners doors very soon.I didnt get to use my sled much be maybe it will lock me a turkey this spring just from looking and driving around on the trails. |

Did it 2 weeks ago, the farmer even took me in his truck to show me 100 plus turkeys feeding amongst his cattle. Hopefully they'll still be there come hunting season. Good Luck to all and maybe I'll get one myself this year finally.

Yea it's a great time to get out and knock on a few doors. The birds are flocked -up and easy to see.But remember when they break up they could be a mile away from were they are wintering. Reacquaint yourself with the farms you have permision on now and ask if their neighbors would alow hunters on their farms too. Ken. |

drive around and find where turkeys have been hiding all winter. I know where I turkey hunt the farmer is getting tired of the turkeys. He said last weekend there was about 20 turkeys standing on top of his bails of hay, ripping all the white tarp off it so they could eat at the bails of hay. he wants them all dead, I told him not possible but I will take 2 a season for him haha |

Lots of turkeys SW of London out towards the Komoka,Mt Brydges way only reason why is LOBO Twnship is a no carry zone . My buddy has a farm on the town line of LOBO and his yard has been home to about 40 or more all winter but as soon as the snow melts they cross the road into LOBO . |

Talked to a guy I heard would possibly let me on and got the OK small area only 10 minutes from home, but lots of birds travel through the only place I know they hang out for sure is owned by an anti hunter go figure. |

Hoping to get out the week of my next week off after night block in March. I have a couple invites from some of the folks I work with, who aren't turkey hunters, but want to give it a try (they took the course just to have the ability to get a licence, but have never done it...primarily shotgunners for deer) and I have my regular spots that are an hour away, but I'd like to stay closer to home. I've stopped in at a few places already and have received a couple firm "no, I don't let any hunters out there" a couple "someone hunts here already" and one "maybe...the guy that I let hunt wasn't here last year, call me in a couple weeks". This entire Region is tough to get permission in. I had a lot more luck just outside of Toronto when I lived in Toronto. But, you can't get permission if you don't knock on doors! |

Try knocking on some doors here on the forum. You will find members that may enjoy hosting other members here. It happens often. I don't have turkey up here unfortunately. Guided turkey hunts can be a good option. Good luck. |

Some folks want to be paid for their time for 'guided' hunts...which is fine, but, it's something I can't afford. It just doesn't fit into the household budget. I'd rather drive an hour and see nothing than pay and have the chance at seeing nothing. |

It's something I should be doing but I'm not. I also drive an hour to an hour and a half to go turkey hunting. Isn't always fun getting up extra early for the drive but that's where I'm at right now. Won't be getting out too much this year so not going to bother knocking on doors. |

I Know its a morning of getting up early but if you do your homework and know the birds are there it might only take you one good morning to get that big tom. |
