Tony, this copied from NWTF website...

DOWNLOAD THIS FORM!

How To Register Your Wild Turkey
NWTF's Wild Turkey Records is designed to offer NWTF members a way to register any legally harvested wild turkey, taken anywhere in the world. More than 15,000 records are in our database. Recordkeeping began in the fall of 1982.

No time limitation is placed on registering a bird as long as the hunter can provide proper documentation and signatures to meet registration requirements.

Both the hunter and the primary witness must be, or must become, a current NWTF member in order to register the bird.

The cost to register each bird is $10. The cost of membership is as follows: $30 per year for Regular members, $25 per year for Wheelin' Sportsmen members, or $25 per year for Women In the Outdoors members. One check may be written for turkey registration and membership fee. Step 1: Download the NWTF Wild Turkey Records Official Registration Form.
Step 2: Completely fill out the form, provide proper attachments (if needed) and obtain proper signatures (see form for details).
Step 3: Mail registration form and attachments (if needed) to:
The National Wild Turkey Federation
Attn: Wild Turkey Records
P.O. Box 530
Edgefield, SC 29824

Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for processing time.

Once records are processed, the following will occur:

You will receive an 8 x 10 certificate for framing.
You will receive a distinctive wild turkey pin with the subspecies of the registered bird on the pin.
Your name and bird's information will be listed on our Web site. Birds are ranked statewide and nationally in various categories according to their subspecies. This list is updated on the Web site on a monthly basis.

Thanks for your help guys.

Having a problem understanding these requirements.

"Both the hunter and the primary witness must be, or must become, a current NWTF member in order to register the bird".

Primary witness who's that? I was in the field along when i harvested the turkey. Can anyone elaborate.

NWTF has policies and procedures that tend to help promote membership. Of course membership means money for them. They do a lot of good work and there are benefits to membership. This requirement to have a witness is basically knowing another NWTF member. This member has to vouch your bird. There is a measure of trust here. There are also some more onerous requirements and scrutiny of exceptional birds.

Tony, anyone who has attended an NWTF banquest in the past year would be a member. Most people know someone who has gone to one of those. Most people who turkey hunt seem to have gone to one of the banquest it seems.

That's the best way for you to become a member as well. Get a buddy who saw your bird and buy a ticket and go to a banquet. They can be fun and you get a membership.

After that it's just filling out a form and sending cash like was mentioned.
I've only had 2 birds over 60. That is a dandy bird for sure.
